Tõutsi Aero Club

Tõutsi Aeroclub was established in 2021 amidst the scenic rolling hills of South Estonia, in the village of Tõutsi, with the aim of continuing and developing the region's rich traditions of general aviation. The club was born from a desire to unite local interest in aviation, technical mastery, and community entrepreneurship, creating an environment where both experienced pilots and new enthusiasts can collectively experience and further develop the charms of flight.

The centerpiece of the club is a modern hangar building, which serves as the hub for both aeronautical technical work and club activities. The hangar is simultaneously a place for aircraft maintenance, storage, and training, as well as a gathering point where knowledge is shared, flight trips are planned, and experiences are exchanged. Here, practical engineering thought meets the romance of aviation—combining technology with a human passion for the sky.

An essential part of the club is the Joosti Guesthouse, which offers comfortable accommodation for guests and aviation friends. This creates an opportunity to live in the heart of the aviation environment—waking up in the morning to the hum of engines, spending the day at the airfield, and sharing impressions with friends by a campfire in the evening.

The founding of Tõutsi Aeroclub was inspired by the deeply rooted and vibrant aviation culture of Southern Europe, which has remained uninterrupted for nearly a century. Following the example of this spirit, the club seeks to strengthen the foundation of Estonian general aviation, bringing here the values of dedication, precision, and freedom that are inseparable parts of aviation.

One of the club's key focuses is the construction and assembly of light aircraft, aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the field of amateur-built aviation in Estonia. Tõutsi Aeroclub creates an environment where practical experience in building and configuring aircraft becomes accessible to all enthusiasts—from young technology lovers to experienced master craftsmen. Such activity helps foster a skills-based aviation culture and strengthens the independence of Estonian aviation.

The club supports initial flight training and entry into general aviation by providing guidance, training, and practical experience. Additionally, academic and historical interest in aviation is promoted by researching the development history of Estonian and global aviation and sharing this knowledge with the new generation. Furthermore, the club offers opportunities to participate in flight trips and expeditions that combine adventure, learning, and community into a single whole.

The annual South Estonian Aviation Days, organized by the club in June, have also become a tradition. These events bring together Estonian aviation enthusiasts, pilots, technicians, and sky-watchers, offering a chance to discover new aircraft and projects while sharing the joy of aviation more broadly.

Tõutsi Aeroclub is not just a place where planes take off and land—it is a community, a school, and a cultural center where knowledge, creativity, and friendship are valued. The club unites tradition and innovation, technical skill, and the courage to dream.

Tõutsi Aeroclub carries a belief that the future of Estonian aviation is born from people who dare to build, fly, and learn. Above the hills of South Estonia, in the Tõutsi sky, a century-long aviation tradition continues and grows—free, creative, and forward-looking.
